How it stays private
The portal opens. We look away.
MyAbroad makes portals easier to reach, not easier to observe. Here is exactly how we built it so we can never see what you do once you are on a government site.
A sandboxed in-app browser
Every portal opens in a WebView, a browser tab isolated from the rest of the app. Cookies, logins, and form data live inside that tab, not inside Captain Waypoint.
We do not read, log, or store what you type
Captain Waypoint does not inject scripts, does not capture keystrokes, and does not intercept form submissions. Your tax number, password, and documents stay between you and the portal.
Apple's sandbox, by design
On iOS, Apple's WKWebView enforces per-site cookie isolation and blocks cross-site access by default. The app that hosts the WebView cannot read the page's contents or your credentials.
What this means in plain language
- We cannot read your username or password.
- We cannot see the forms you submit.
- We cannot export your documents.
- We cannot build a profile from what you do on a portal.
