Community

The friends nobody told you about

Watch parties, language swaps, cultural holidays, practical workshops. Whatever you miss from home and whatever you want to learn where you are, someone nearby is already hosting it.

What you will find

Six kinds of nearby. You pick

Filter by what you care about today. Every event is hosted by a verified member of the community. No cold calls, no spam, no everyone-is-invited-except-you.

Watch parties

Mundial, Copa Am茅rica, the Champions League. Someone is gathering to watch, and the crowd knows the songs.

Cultural holidays

Koningsdag, D铆a de Muertos, Sinterklaas, Chinese New Year. The dates you celebrated at home, still on the calendar here.

Practical workshops

Visa paperwork, opening a bank account, tax filings. Partner-led sessions with room for questions.

Language swaps

Tandems, conversation nights, informal classes. The fastest way into a new country is the people speaking it.

Food gatherings

Asados, potlucks, brunches. The dish your grandmother made, cooked by someone from your hometown.

Music and nights out

DJ nights, small gigs, open mics. Curated by people who know the scene, not the algorithm.

What is on

A peek at what is happening right now

Real examples of events you will see in the app, across countries and communities. Tap a filter to narrow.

Sports

Argentina vs Brazil, watch party

All-in asado, projector on the wall, three stars on the jersey. Reigning champions, cheering crowd. Bring a friend who still cannot believe 2022 happened.

Host something

Hosts make the community. Here is how

Individuals, clubs, embassies, partner organizations. If you have a reason to bring people together, you can host. Free, always.

01

Apply as a host

Tell us who you are, who your community is, and the kind of events you want to run. Verification is light for volunteers, deeper for organizations.

02

Publish in three minutes

Title, time, place, a short blurb. That is the whole form. We handle translations, the map, and the RSVP flow.

03

See who is coming

Attendee list, capacity, waitlist, quick messages. No emails scraped, no ads served, no algorithm deciding who sees it.

Privacy you can explain in a sentence

Who went is between the host and the people who went

RSVP lists are private to the host and the attendees of that event. Captain Waypoint does not sell attendee data, does not show ads, and does not share who goes with anyone else. You can opt out of your RSVP being visible to other attendees at any time.

You hold your profileMinimum required info, which is essentially a display name.
Visible only to attendeesYour RSVP does not leak to the rest of the network.
No engagement metricsWe never nudge you to go to things you said no to.
Your people are closer than you think

Open the app, pick a night, show up

Watch parties with your countrymen, workshops in your language, brunches in parks you have never heard of. The friends are there, the calendar is there, the door is open.
